Land Conservation Deal: 34 Million Sq. Ft. of Wetlands Secured in Morin-Heights

Landerz announces the conclusion of a major transaction involving 34 million square feet of wetlands located around Lac Carruthers in Morin-Heights, including lots 5 080 046, 5 080 010, and 3 206 940. The acquisition of these ecologically significant lands will lead to the creation of one of the largest privately initiated parks ever developed in Quebec, ensuring the long-term protection of millions of square feet of natural habitats.

The buyer, Ducks Unlimited Canada, is dedicated to conserving wetlands and related habitats for the benefit of North American waterfowl, while promoting a healthy environment for wildlife and human communities alike.

Many landowners underestimate the true value of wetlands. Yet these spaces can be both preserved and enhanced.

In this transaction, Landerz’s expertise in conservation deals and deep knowledge of ecological donation mechanisms played a key role.
